How to Install Windows via Setup.exe in WinPE

Reinstalling Windows helps refresh the system and thoroughly fix software errors. Instead of wasting time creating separate USB installers for each version, nhvboot.com will guide you on how to run the Setup.exe file directly in the WinPE environment. This method is not only simple and intuitive but also ensures high stability and minimizes risks during the process

1. Preparation and Important Notes

Before installing, you need to download the Windows ISO file (10 or 11) to your computer A special feature of NHV BOOT WinPE is the auto-Bypass mechanism, allowing you to install Windows 11 smoothly even on older computers that do not support TPM 2.0 or Secure Boot

⚠️ Golden rules for Boot standards (Must remember):

  • Machine boots in UEFI mode -> Must install on GPT standard hard drive
  • Machine boots in Legacy mode -> Must install on MBR standard hard drive

Note: For Laptops using Intel 11th Gen chips or newer, you need to download the IRST Driver (Intel Rapid Storage Technology) so the Windows installer can recognize the SSD

2. Delete Old Windows Partitions and Install New Windows

The first step in the installation process is to clean the drive. From the NHV BOOT Desktop interface, open the Partition Wizard tool to delete old Windows partitions or repartition the hard drive as desired

Launch the Partition Wizard disk management tool (icon available on Desktop or in PStart Menu)
Right-click on old Windows partitions (Drive C, System, Recovery…) and select Delete to clean the hard drive before new installation
After deleting old partitions, ensure the disk space is in Unallocated state, then click Apply to save changes

After cleaning the hard drive, access the data drive and locate the pre-downloaded Windows installation ISO file

Double-click the ISO file to automatically Mount (create a virtual drive) containing the Windows installer
Access the newly mounted virtual drive, find and launch the setup.exe file to begin the Windows installation process
In the Windows Setup window, keep the language and time settings unchanged (default is English), then click Next to continue
On the Select keyboard settings screen, keep the default keyboard layout (usually US) and click Next
Check the box I agree everything will be deleted… to confirm the clean installation then click Next
If you have a license key, enter it in the box. If not, or if you want to activate later, click I don’t have a product key to skip this step
At the Select Image screen, select the Windows edition that suits your needs (e.g. Windows 11 Pro), then click Next
At the license terms notification screen, click the Accept button to agree and continue
Click to select the hard drive area displayed as Unallocated Space, then click Next. The system will automatically create necessary system partitions (EFI, Recovery…) and start the installation process
At the Ready to install confirmation screen, review your options one last time then click the Install button to begin the data loading process
The installation process will proceed completely automatically, and after the progress bar finishes, the computer will automatically Restart to enter the new Windows setup interface

Important note: During the initial Windows setup, you should not connect to the network (unplug the LAN cable or skip WiFi) to make the installation process faster

The Windows installation process has been completed successfully, and now you can start installing Drivers and essential software
